Spiced Nuts
Everyone had a great time at their dinner last night. I am still not in full on Turkish mode which is o.k. because their travel guide Kemal has them eating out a bit at Turkish restaurants and the last thing they probably want to do is eat more Turkish food on the boat. I am mixing in some though, and we are taking advantage of the local cheeses, breads, etc. Thanks to all that have contacted me, I am glad you are following along. So what kind of feedback am I getting? Maybe more of my witty prose, or some of those great food photos, or possibly more recipes? No, you want more creepy Turkish Carnival Pictures, three orders of sex tea, and more photo’s of Jenna! What kind of people are following along! Though I must admit I saw another carnival at our anchorage and was tempted to have the boys run me in for some photos. How about instead I share a cute, kind of odd carnival photo, and I was so excited to see the belly dancers I forgot to post the photo of Sandy, who so graciously shared her Turkish carrot recipe. The picture is of her and her husband, and my buddy Harry who used to order the same salad every day, which had these spiced nuts as part of it. I had to ban Celeste from eating the spiced pecans at the cafe because she would just eat them by themselves and Josephine and I couldn’t keep up. The Arugula over here is so good, has such a spicy kick to it. This is really three recipes in one, you might notice the spice for the pecans is pretty much the same as the sweet potatoes, a classic mix that I love.
