Hi there,

My name is Jeff Pirtle and I started this blog in the spring of 2007 when I was getting ready to start a charter season in the Mediterranean as a Yacht Chef. I had worked for that yacht for a few years and they asked me to come back for the summer.

The yacht finally got internet access, and I knew it was going to be an adventure, so I chronicled my adventures. I am Currently a Chef on a Yacht that spends the summers in New England and the Mediterranean, and Winters in Florida and other blue waters south of there.

I have started a daily newsletter called Passport to Healthy Cooking (cool name huh?). You can sign up in the box on the right and once you do you can expect my healthiest recipes, travel stories, and articles, and a bunch of other fun stuff (never a dull moment around here) :)

Also I have a facebook page for the newsletter where my subscribers and I can talk about the recipes I create and whatever else is on our minds. I encourage you to sign up. You can go to that page here.

I miss my cat Butternut (she’s not really mine) in Charlotte, so I adopted one and put her on my blog. She hangs out on the right hand side and you can play with her by moving your cursor around her and even make her jump out of her basket (I know I’m lame).

I love hearing from my customers and readers so feel free to say hello at jeff@cheftraveler.com
